The Business Banking Expert logo

Logo

The mark is a shield with a check, because deposit protection is the spine of how we score accounts — and because the site is about checking things rather than approving them.

Using the logo

  • Clear space. Leave at least the height of the shield on every side.
  • Minimum size. 24px for the mark, 180px wide for the horizontal lockup.
  • Do not recolour it, add effects, stretch it, place it on a busy photograph, or rebuild the wordmark in another typeface.
  • Do not use it to imply we endorse a product or partnership. Linking to us or citing us is fine; suggesting we recommend you is not.

Typography

Headings are Plus Jakarta Sans at 700–800 with tight tracking. Body text is Inter. Figures and dates are DM Mono, which keeps tabular numbers aligned in comparison tables. All three are open source and available from Google Fonts.

How to describe us

One line: The Business Banking Expert is an independent UK site reviewing business bank accounts, written by a former business banker.

Longer: The Business Banking Expert compares every major UK business bank account across seven weighted criteria, with deposit protection and independently measured service quality carrying the most weight. It publishes its scoring model in full, labels any figure it has not verified against a provider’s own source, and releases its underlying data as free datasets.

For journalists We are happy to share underlying data, earlier versions of our datasets, and methodology — and to talk on background about how business account onboarding actually works and why applications fail. Our data hub is free to reuse under CC BY 4.0. Press enquiries: press@thebusinessbankingexpert.co.uk.

Citing us

“Source: The Business Banking Expert, [dataset name], [date].”

A link to the specific page is preferred over a link to the homepage — it lets readers check the figure themselves, which is the entire point.

Common questions

Can I use your logo?

Yes, to identify or link to us — in an article, a citation, a partner listing. Do not alter it, recolour it, or use it in a way implying we endorse a product. If you are unsure, ask.

Can I republish your data?

Yes. Our datasets are published under CC BY 4.0: free to reuse and adapt, including commercially, with attribution and a link to the dataset page.

Can I interview the author?

We speak to journalists on background about how business account onboarding works, and share methodology and underlying data. We do not do on-the-record interviews under a real name — the reasons are on the about page.
